surrounded by her loving family. Cleta was born in Norristown, PA and raised in Ocean Grove, NJ. Cleta
lived most of her life in Neptune and Wall Township. She was a 1956 graduate of Neptune High School,
then graduated and received her RN from Ann May School of Nursing in 1959. Cleta received her bachelor's degree from Jersey City State College. She also received her master’s degree in education from Trenton State College. She worked as an ER and delivery room nurse at Fitkin Memorial Hospital, she was an OBGYN nurse to Dr. John Ayers of Spring Lake, she worked as a private duty nurse, school nurse for Holmdel, Pert Amboy and Howell School districts, MOESC health Education teacher, summer nurse at Six Flags Great Adventure, nurse at Arthur Brisbane Child TreatmentCenter and was a nurse for Tri State Bible Camp and several local Hebrew camps. Cleta was a lifelong member of Full Gospel Church, Wall where she enjoyed singing with the praise team and leading the jail ministry and nursing home ministry. She was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America where she went from Den Mother to Pack Master for Pack 190. Cleta was the first woman Pack Master. Cleta played the trumpet under Harry Eichhorn for the Ocean Grove Summer Band from 1953 to 2016. She also served as an Election Poll volunteer for many elections and was a member of the Ocean County Camera Club. Music was instrumental in Cleta’s life. In her spare time she enjoyed going to the beach, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Cleta was predeceased by her husband, Roger White in April 2019; her parents John Markley and
Eleanor Weber; her brother Jay Weber. She is survived by her sister Phyllis (Bill) Beck of Freehold, NJ and
Marilyn (David) Powell of Elmira, NY; her three beloved children, Andrew Welch of Wall and his daughter
Dana; Kenneth Welch of Cary, NC and his sons Nolan and Jonah; daughter Susan Mahoney (Mike) of
Marlboro, NJ and their children Payton and Sean; three stepdaughters, Ruth Rumbles of IL, Pam White of
TX and Lori Cummings of NC as well as eleven cherished grandchildren, three great grandchildren and
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 12-3 pm at
Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. A Celebration of Life
will begin at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of
