Fred John French passed away on August 27, two days before his 76th birthday, at home with his daughter by his side. Fred was predeceased by his longtime companion of 23 years Julie Groner in 2009; his parents Frederick and Elaine French and a son Michael Dean French. He leaves behind his daughter, Tara Holly, son-in-law, Kevin Holly and two grandchildren Chase and Brynn Holly, of Brielle. He also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Joe Morgan of Edgewater Florida; Nieces Elaine Morgan Vanderkley of Newark, Delaware and Linda Morgan Clouse of Havre de Grace, Maryland, and his longtime companion's son, Stephen Groner and Shannon Groner, of Brick and their children Owen, Sydney, and Morgan.

Fred was known both in Brielle, NJ and Havre de Grace, Maryland for his expertise in collectibles and antiques. He and his life partner, Julie Groner, were owner/operators of Franklin Street Antiques in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Fred’s greatest joy was fishing from his boat with his grandchildren. Neighborhood friends of his grandchildren knew they could bring their bicycles to him for minor repairs when needed. As a younger man, his passion was working on Corvettes and motorcycles.
