John came into our lives shortly after he came into Jane's and we have been dear friends ever since. We will always have our fond memories of Monday night at Pete and Elda's for specials and beer! He has guided our financial endeavors for the past 25 years and has always looked out for our well being. It is difficult to put into words how much we will miss him--we are forever his "Party Dolls"! Carol Bace and Susan Dalrymple

Thanksgiving with John - 1965. John was my best friend, a realist and a pragmatist. In 1965, he was in college at William & Mary, never called or wrote home between September and early November. The day before Thanksgiving, he drove to his parents' house in East Brunswick, NJ, arriving. about 5PM. John opened the front door, walked in, and some unknown older guy walked from the kitchen into the living room to greet him. John's reaction was, "Who are you?" The older guy said, "Hi, my I help you?" John said, "Let me rephrase that question: Who are you and what are you doing in my parents' house?" The older guy said, "You must be John. Your parents sold their house to us almost a month ago and moved to Pittsburgh; said you'd show up for Thanksgiving and you should call them; here's their new phone number." John picked up the phone and called Pittsburgh. His mom yelled at him for not contacting them for three months, then asked if the could make it to Pittsburgh for tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner. John was a realist, knew he had a problem and knew he had to solve it. He told his mother, "Can't make it. Enjoy Thanksgiving." John, the pragmatist, took over. He started to solve his problem. He called my parents' house and told them what had just happened. My mom replied, "Your mom called us before they moved and said this would happen. Do you want to join us for Thanksgiving?" Problem solved! At that meal, I realized the Guidoboni's had gained another family member.
Rest in peace, my brother. I'll see you on the other side some day.
